Dear Friends from Cologne,

I am happy to announce that after 20 years of friendship Indianapolis and Cologne’s sister city bonds are stronger than ever.

This anniversary is truly a joyful occasion, and could not have happened without the dedicated efforts of the Cologne and Indianapolis sister city committees, governments, and countless volunteers and supporters from both cities.

Over the years Indianapolis has been privileged to receive a number of visitors from Cologne.  It is fitting then that during this 20th anniversary our city again has the privilege of receiving a group of our Colognese friends.  I look forward to their arrival and I encourage all citizens of Cologne to visit their friends in Indianapolis.  

Conversely, I encourage all Indianapolis citizens to reach out to their friends in Cologne.  Our friendship with Cologne is stalwart and dynamic, and I look forward to the day when I can impart this sentiment to the people of Cologne in person.
